Add and configure Dutchie registers, This article applies to Dutchie POS.
Things to consider for Add and configure Dutchie registers
- A register can be either a point-of-sale station in your store or a delivery vehicle
- Please reach out to Support or your Customer Success Manager to enable additional features that may be needed to support your location’s workflows. Optional features include, but are not limited to:
- Requiring a manager PIN for certain actions such as closeouts, adjusting patient allotments, editing carts, or adjusting loyalty points.
- Requiring non-managers to scan items to add them to a cart, or granting them the ability to search and add products manually.
- Assigning registers to physical hardware devices so that non-managers can only log in to a certain register from a certain device, or allowing non-managers to access any register from any device.
- Printers should be set up and synced before setting up new registers.
- You can assign a label printer from Settings > Account.
Add a register at your location
- Go to Settings > Devices.
- On the Registers tab, click the Add register button
- Fill out the settings.
- Click the Add button.
When you launch a new register for the first time, the cash balance is zero. Enter your initial starting cash as a deposit.
When you close out a new register for the first time, be sure to enter the amount you’re leaving in the drawer for the next shift in the New Balance field. This will be recorded as the Starting cash amount for the next shift.
Add a delivery vehicle as a register
- Go to Delivery > Configure > Cars, and click the Add Car button.
- Add the vehicle information.
- Enable mobile checkout and click the Add button.
- Return to Devices > Register to view or modify the settings for this vehicle as a register.
View or modify register settings
- Go to Settings > Devices.
- On the Registers tab, select the register you want to view or modify.
- View or update the settings.
- Click Save.

Register name | Required. Be specific when naming the register. |
Linked rooms | Optional: By default, registers can “see” and sell any inventory in a room that is marked as sales floor and inventory room. If you want this register to also be able to access another room, select it here. This is generally used for dynamic delivery, where each delivery vehicle has a designed room and register with limited inventory. |
Show notes on POS | Shows notes when launching the POS. |
Auto print labels | Print labels automatically. |
Default label printer | Assign a label printer to the register. |
Auto print receipts | Print labels automatically. |
Default receipt printer | Assign a receipt printer to the register. |
Auto print fulfillment ticket | Print fulfillment tickets automatically. |
Default fulfillment printer | Assign a receipt printer to print fulfillment tickets. |
Default label | Choose a default label format to print. |
Allow delivery receipts | Enables manual receipt printing buttons in the cart view. |
Hide from POS | If set to yes, the register no longer appears in the dropdown selection when a user launches the register application. Registers can’t be deleted. Use this to hide registers that are no longer in use. |
Linked rooms inventory only | If set to yes, sales floor inventory won’t be visible when using this register. |
Cash threshold | If set to yes, the register shows an alert when the cash drawer balance reaches this threshold so users know it’s time to drop cash. Enter a whole dollar amount (no cents). |
Restrict to scale weighing | If set to yes, users can’t directly enter or edit bulk flower weights on this register but can still enter a weight override (if enabled). Learn more about scale integration for Windows devices or for the Dutchie Register terminal. |
